Located just over 10 miles from Moscow, Troy is a small town in Latah County. Situated 1.5 hours north of Troy are Lake Coeur d’Alene, Spokane International Airport, and extensive shopping options. Lewis and Clark State College is 50 miles south of Troy, and vast recreational wilderness lies to the east. To the west are two major universities: the University of Idaho in Moscow (11 miles) and Washington State University in Pullman, Washington (25 miles). According to the 2010 census, Troy had 862 residents.
Troy has its own school district with class sizes averaging about 25 students. The local economy is supported by farming, ranching, and timber industries.
